Karakteristik Kepemimpinan Raja Daud dalam Perspektif Teologi Alkitabiah: Tinjauan Kritis atas Sisi Baik dan Buruk Tata Cara Kepemimpinannya

Abstract

This study examines the personality characteristics of King David as a biblical figure in the Old Testament, focusing on his leadership dimensions from a Christian theological perspective. The research aims to analyze both the positive and negative traits that shaped David's leadership pattern and their relevance to contemporary Christian leadership. The method employed is library research with a narrative-historical exegesis approach to biblical texts, particularly 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, and Psalms. The findings reveal that David possessed outstanding character traits including courageous faith, humility, spiritual sensitivity, and relational ability. However, he also demonstrated serious weaknesses in impulse control, abuse of power (the Bathsheba-Uriah affair), and failure in family discipline. The study concludes that David's leadership represents an authentic model—full of grace yet full of weakness—serving as a mirror for Christian leaders to integrate courage, repentance, and dependence on God as the foundation of responsible leadership.
