Karakteristik Kepribadian Dan Gaya Kepemimpinan Rasul Matius: Tinjauan Alkitabiah dan Implikasinya bagi Pemimpin Masa Kini

Abstract

The Apostle Matthew is one of the important figures in the Bible who was known as a tax collector before being called by Jesus to become His disciple. This study aims to analyze the personality characteristics of the Apostle Matthew and his leadership style from a biblical perspective. The research method used is a qualitative method with a literature study approach through the analysis of biblical sources and Christian theological literature. The results show that the Apostle Matthew possessed humility, obedience, responsibility, and a transformed life after following Jesus Christ. In his leadership, Matthew demonstrated a servant attitude, faithfulness in ministry, and the ability to systematically convey teachings through the Gospel of Matthew. However, before his repentance, Matthew was known as a tax collector who was viewed negatively by society due to associations with dishonesty and economic oppression. This study concludes that the leadership of the Apostle Matthew provides positive examples of repentance, faithfulness, and service, while also reminding readers that negative human character can be transformed through spiritual renewal and faith in God.
