Abstract

Leadership plays an indispensable role across multiple dimensions of human life, spanning social, organizational, and spiritual spheres. This study is designed to thoroughly examine the character and leadership model exemplified by the Prophet Jeremiah as one of the central figures in the Old Testament, while also exploring its connection to the dynamics of contemporary leadership. The research employs a qualitative approach grounded in library research, drawing on a systematic analysis of biblical texts alongside theologically relevant scholarly literature. The findings reveal that Jeremiah's leadership was distinctly prophetic in nature, wholly anchored in submission to God's will and distinguished by an unwavering courage to proclaim truth, even in the face of rejection and severe hardship. This form of leadership positions moral integrity, steadfast perseverance in one's calling, and uncompromising faithfulness as its foundational pillars. When examined through the lens of modern life, these values prove to be enduringly relevant and applicable across various domains of leadership, particularly as a guiding framework for navigating social pressure and the temptation to prioritize image over truth. This study is therefore expected to offer a meaningful intellectual contribution toward broadening the understanding of theologically grounded leadership and its practical implications for human life in the contemporary world.
